“Studies show that a one-second delay in page load time can lead to a 7 % reduction in your conversions. So how can you ensure that your site is running at optimal speed? So here are some of the tips that I would definitely suggest you could do for your e -commerce store.

The first one is to optimise images. In many e-commerce stores, because you are selling products, you’re going to have a lot of product images.

Having large uncompressed images can significantly slow down your website. There are different tools and apps that you can use to compress those images without sacrificing their quality. The next thing we want to do is minimize our HTTP requests. To decrease those load times, we want to reduce the number of elements on your page, such as images, scripts, and CSS files.

Now, if, like me, you’re not a web designer or developer, I highly suggest engaging or speaking with someone to help you out with some of those technical elements.

The next thing we want to do is regularly test our site speed using tools like Google PageSpeed Insights or GT Metrics. These are the two tools that I’ve been using for many, many years. These will allow you to identify the adjustments you need to make to maintain high performance. A fast-loading site not only improves user experience but also positively impacts your SEO efforts.”
