With 18 years in the auto repair industry, Yvonne's marketing and business growth journey wasn't always smooth. She began at dealerships for Mercedes-Benz and Toyota, moved to a small auto collision franchise that was later acquired by Caliber Collision, then took on marketing for her husband's and father-in-law's independent auto repair shop in California, facing the challenges of attracting customers, growing revenue and standing out in a competitive market.

"I call it my Shift into High Gear system, and it's four pillars. It's exactly how the business did it. We shifted into high gear in such a short amount of time, and that's what I want for other businesses too.

The four pillars are SMS messages, SEO, PPC and your Google Business Profile. Those four working simultaneously together are the magic sauce for getting your business visible quickly."

The myth she wants to break

"The myth is that you have to work yourself to the bone and hope that in retirement you can reap the rewards of all those years of hard work. Most people find they're too burnt out by then. You don't get to take the holiday. You've already missed the fun moments. Your kids have grown up and have families of their own, and you've missed the time.

The myth is that you'll have time later on, and that's a fallacy. It's what you do with your time right now, and how you replicate yourself so your business doesn't need you present for everything. You have to put the systems and processes in place. That's the hard part, and it takes time, rather than working tirelessly with your head down. Surround yourself with a good team."
